OUR COFFINS & CASKETS

Core
services

We are in the business of compassion, quality and pride

When a loved one has went to their ancestors, finding a suitable home can be stressful. Our business is not just helping families put their loved in their final resting place. We help families to do this in a respectful, traditional and compassionate manner by making coffins and caskets that resonate with Africa’s funerary rites of dignity and respect.

Standard coffin making

Our standard coffins are manufactured to the highest quality without breaking the bank. This standard coffin is made in pine and its flat lid allows for the viewing of the loved one. The coffin comes with three handles (in gold) on either side. It is available in white (high gloss), African mahogany or oak.

Diamond & handcrafted caskets

We handcraft our caskets from the finest pine wood (or the wood of our clients’ choice). Our diamond caskets are the premium choice with a unique design. It is our handcrafted ones that have made us a name in the industry. These come in standard design or mounted with the sculpture of the deceased’s totem animal. We use the Basotho blanket (or any traditional blanket to cover the whole or the lid) of the casket. This touch is truly unique in coffin making in South Africa. We trim our coffins in gold or varnish them in unique colours that represent the personality of the deceased.

Training & Development

We train people in coffin-making and its related business. Our training covers  required tools, technical requirements, the business of making coffins and ‘how-to start’. We are in the process of aligning with FPSETA to offer accredited courses to the youth, women and retired seniors in need of an income.

Distribution & Warehousing

For our clients that require to store and warehouse bulk orders, we can either distribute to their warehouse(s) or keep stock for them. We can store stock that has been fully manufactured and paid for, for up to 6-months at a time. For this warehousing and storage, we need a minimum of 10 orders. We can distribute anywhere in the country – from 1 to 100 boxes. This usually takes anything from 2days to 14 days depending on the size of the order.

OUR SERVICES

USP – We sell more than coffins; we are in the business of compassion, pride, dignity in the African funeral

Wood

Our wood is finely selected to allow crafting it as perfectly as possible. We can manufacture in pine, mahogany and oak. We treat our wood to ensure that it is durable, safe and legally compliant. This allows us to produce superior design and standard.

Pricing

Our pricing model is below the market value to ensure that we deliver on the premium promise of our products. Our costs are made up of materials, finishes and the legal COVID-19 requirements as regulated by government.

Colours

Our caskets can be customised to meet the needs of either a bulk buying client or an individual. We offer coffins and caskets in ice cream pink, popping blue, lipstick red, fuming orange and lime green, coloured at the source, delivered or stored.

Client treatment

Our clients are treated like royalty that they are. This is our standard client promise – to give our clients the royal treatment that they deserve and are used to. This client treatment is our basis for our business and it is premised on the mantra of ubuntu.

Finishing

We embrace innovation to provide a superior level of design that allows sophisticated joinery. Japanese joinery requires no screws while the easier route allows standard sturdy screws and glue to offer support and strength at the weakest points.

After-sales

Our clients are supported all the way through their journey. We focus specifically on after-sales because we want our first time clients to remain our clients. We believe in long standing relationships without clients, to ensure rapport and certainty with our clients.

Interior

Our interior finish is primarily in Basotho blanket (any traditional blanket). Many African traditions believe the deceased must wear a blanket when they are laid to rest. Our casket fulfills this requirement with a dignified final home for our clients’ loved ones.

Environment

AT BRC, we are aware of our environment and how each business can be detrimental to the environment. We believe in a small carbon footprint. This is to ensure that we can do business without harm on the environment.
